Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo

Oh boy, two posts in one week.  I woke up with a stomach bug, so I’m getting in a second review of the week.

Thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, I received the first book in the new Shamrock Falls series Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo (aka: Nyrae Dawn).

Overview: (From Netgalley) She’ll gamble her heart on the best friend she left behind…

One lucky break is all struggling actress Sidney Williams needs. But when living the LA life becomes too much, she heads back to the small town of Shamrock Falls for the vacation she needs to get her life on track—and immediately runs into Kade Mitchell, her former best friend and the boy next door she’s always regretted leaving behind.

Kade, the new owner of Lucky’s—once the most popular bar in Shamrock Falls—is determined to bring the place back to its former glory, and seeing Sidney again is a distraction he doesn’t need. Sure, the chemistry between them is explosive, but Kade can’t let himself fall into a fling with his best friend—not when he knows she’s soon heading back to the glitter of Tinseltown.

Now, with the possibility of her first major acting role looming, Sidney must decide if her lucky break is in Hollywood or right where she left it—in Shamrock Falls.

My Opinion: This was my first time reading a book by Kelley/Nyrae, but I had heard plenty of positive reviews from friends.  I was definitely not let down.  I loved the hero, Kade.  His loyalty to his family and friends was truly touching.  He was funny and sweet, sexy and determined.  He was the ideal, swoon-worthy hunk.  Sidney was sweet and endearing, but there were moments that I wanted to scream at her to grow up.  I loved Kade and Sidney together, but I think Sidney needed to stop with the Mommy issues.

I can’t wait to read more in this series.  I was so intrigued by Betsy and Jace.  And I want Rowen to get her happily ever after too.  I’ll be counting down the days until the next release!!

I rate Lucky Break by Kelley Vitollo 4 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance with a deep storyline.  🙂

Now nearing her 30s, Lynnie is living her happily-ever-after in a small New England town. She shares her castle with her very own Prince Charming and their 2 (fur) babies.
