Ask Me To Stay by Elise K. Ackers

Ask Me to Stay is the only book I have read by Elise K. Ackers and I was not disappointed.

Ask Me to Stay is the first book in the Homeland series and it is quite addicting.  The characters are all lovable (the children stole my heart).  I loved the family dynamic and the growth that took place.  I felt it was lacking in the romance department though. As a book marketed as a romance, I think the readers aren’t given enough back story of the main characters original relationship.  I didn’t feel emotionally invested in the couple getting back together. We are told they loved each other deeply, but that’s about it.

I think the family plot of the book was more heartwarming than the romance.  I loved Ethan and the relationship that develops between him and his niece and nephew.  I can’t wait to read Dean’s story, whenever it comes out.  I also am anxious for Cal’s book.  I wanted to slap is ex-girlfriend.

Overall, I enjoyed Ask Me to Stay.  I’m rating it 4 out of 5 stars, only because I was disappointed in the lack of romance.  I’m excited to see how the series progresses!

About Romantic Moments Book Blog

Lynnie is an avid reader with a soft spot for romance. Her addiction to all things lovey-dovey began when she was introduced to the black-haired, blue-eyed angel named Prince Eric at the age of 4. Once she realized she could never win his heart from Ariel, Lynnie aimed her sight on more realistic options, like Cory Matthews and the members of NSYNC. Now nearing her 30s, Lynnie is living her happily-ever-after in a small New England town. She shares her castle with her very own Prince Charming and their 2 (fur) babies. When she is not reading for pleasure, Lynnie is a freelance editor and writer.
