Come and Get It by Keira Cole

It’s a rainy day here, so I thought I’d read some of my Netgalley ARCs.  I chose Come and Get It by Keira Cole (previously released under the name India Masters) because I have a love for short novellas.

This might be a first, but I didn’t like this book.  The female lead, Dixie Rose, was good. I enjoyed her positive attitude and strength, but that was the only thing I liked about this book.  The Hero, Quin, had no redeeming qualities. Even after him and Dixie ‘hook up’, he’s a jerk and dumbass.  They have sex, then he leaves for a short business trip.. They have phone sex, and then the very same night he criticizes her (to himself) so severely and talks himself into arranging a date with a f*ck buddy. He doesn’t go through with the sex, but still. Ugh!

I just don’t understand?!? How is this romantic? And the ending, WTF?

I’m sorry to say I give this book 1.5 stars. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.  I am thankful, though, to Netgalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for giving me the opportunity to review this book. I’m sorry the outcome was not the best.

Lynnie is an avid reader with a soft spot for romance. Her addiction to all things lovey-dovey began when she was introduced to the black-haired, blue-eyed angel named Prince Eric at the age of 4. Once she realized she could never win his heart from Ariel, Lynnie aimed her sight on more realistic options, like Cory Matthews and the members of NSYNC. Now nearing her 30s, Lynnie is living her happily-ever-after in a small New England town. She shares her castle with her very own Prince Charming and their 2 (fur) babies. When she is not reading for pleasure, Lynnie is a freelance editor and writer.
